What have I done in the past years. A bottle of champagne that has dripped dry for two years or a flight that was nowhere to be found in the past three years. A set of speakers that has ran out of songs to play or a book that has never been opened. Where am I.

The October sky in Shanghai was inspiring. Looking back, I think I have started my own searching of the soul and finding of the root, just like many others have done under the same October sky and along similar paths.

Shanghai has became more strange and baffling to me than it was once familiar. Being a traveler fostered under the known roofs during all my previous visits, I could only see a fraction of the city. Without experiencing the daily life or understanding the social and cultural chemistries of the city, I was bewildered by the glamorous and yet decadent side of Shanghai, and troubled by the expanding social gaps between the diverse residents of Shanghai.

It will be time for me to become an individual living in this metropolitan of my birth. To see what I’ve all missed, and to experience what I’ve all loved.
